I know that u need to use the tractor beam to get it i think?

But ive forgotten at what depth do you find it or is it anywhere or below a certain place, ive forgotten took me while to work out the tractor beam thing.

at a certain point in the game it said there is a certain special design for a new part 'that could greatly value your craft'

You don't need the tractor beam to find them, just look around untill you find a part then dig into it like you would mining a mineral
